Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Perform typical Front Office duties such as Checkin and Check out of Patients, collecting payments and verifying insurance information
- Schedule appointments and manage the provider calendar
- Maintain patient records and update medical information in the electronic medical records system (Office utilizes eClinicalWorks)
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries or direct calls to the appropriate staff member
- Assist with billing and insurance claims processing
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and follow-up on patient appointments
- Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, ordering scanning documents, ordering office supplies, etc
- At all times maintain patient privacy and confidentiality per HIPAA regulations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certification in medical office administration is a plus
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems, eClinicalWorks preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with phone systems and handling patient inquiries
