Medical Coder - HIM Specialist
Full-Time (Day Shift)
IN PERSON POSITION - NOT REMOTE
Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is an innovative behavioral health hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix, Arizona metro area. Our 120-bed facility will offer specialized mental health services and substance use treatment for teens, adults and older adults experiencing issues such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders and co-occurring addictions.

Summary
The Health Information Management Specialist and Coder Analyst is responsible for assembling and analyzing medical records in accordance with hospital/departmental policies and procedures, performing audits in accordance with established federal rules and regulations, abstracting and coding clinical data using standard classification systems, processing requests for patient health information and coding the medical record to the highest level of severity and following all ICD-10 guidelines. Performs a variety of tasks and assists the Director of Medical Records in other clerical duties.

Summary

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have prior experience in medical coding.
- RHIT, CSS or CPC, CPC-H, or equivalent Certification required.
- Must have or be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
