Medical Billing and Collections Specialist - ( 1 yr exp.)

Medical Billing and Collections for a friendly General Surgery Practice. This ideal candidate will have at least 1 yr of experience in the healthcare industry and Medical Billing. We are seeking an experienced part-time biller that is a self-motivated, highly organized multitasker. Must have excellent verbal & written communication skills.

Code and review charges for accuracy, scrub and submit claims. Work AR reports on denied/unpaid claims, correct/adjust and resubmit as necessary. Patient collections and follow-up. Posting insurance and patient payments.

Qualifications:

*High School Diploma

*Medical Billing: 1 year (preferred)

*Certified Professional Biller, CPB (preferred)

*Exceptional communication and organizational skills

*Knowledge of all types of insurance plans and policies

*Thorough knowledge of CPT, and ICD-10 coding.

*Experience with contacting insurance companies and tracking payments

*Working accounts receivable & sending patient statements

*Must know how to read EOBs and understand denial codes

*Posting insurance and patient payments

*Submitting appeals and medical notes to correct rejections and timely filing

*Electronic claim submissions and error corrections

*Electronic Medical Records (eClinicalWorks, Practice Fusion, Kareo)

*Credentialing with all insurance companies and local hospitals

*Insurance company enrollment and contract negotiation

* Experience with EDI and ERA enrollment for clearinghouse setup

Schedule:

• 4-hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Thursday
