We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. Must speak English & Spanish.
As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services. Your role will be crucial in ensuring timely reimbursement for medical services provided.
Duties:
- Review and verify patient information for accuracy and completeness
- Assign appropriate medical codes to procedures and services using ICD-10 and other coding systems
- Submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Follow up on unpaid claims and denials to ensure proper reimbursement
- Coordinate with medical provider to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes
- Maintain accurate records of all billing activities
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance coverage
- Assist with medical collections as needed
- Stay updated on industry changes and regulations related to medical billing
- Utilize eClinical Works software (experience is a plus) to streamline billing processes and maintain electronic records.
Skills:
- Proficient in medical coding and terminology
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding system and other coding systems
- Familiarity with medical collection processes
- Experience working with medical records and billing systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
