Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Perform vital signs measurements, including blood pressure, heart rate, and weight.
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
- Provide basic life support in emergency situations
- Prepare and send outside referrals and other diagnostic scheduling coordination
- Provide medical administrative support, including appointment scheduling and registration for patients as well as updating patient demographic and insurance information.
-Schedule surgeries/procedures verifying times with patients; preparing charts, pre-admissions and consent forms as necessary.
-Enters orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) system or prepares prescription refill requests on behalf of the physician for the review and approval by the ordering physician. *Performs other duties as assigned by Office Manager.
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Proficient in performing patient care tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting in sterile procedures.
- Familiarity with basic life support techniques
- Experience with medical administrative tasks, including scheduling and record keeping
Skills:
- Proficiency in conducting vital signs measurements accurately and efficiently
- Ability to provide compassionate patient care and maintain a calm demeanor in high-stress situations
- Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology to assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures
- Familiarity with medical terminology to accurately document patient information and communicate with other healthcare professionals
- Basic life support skills to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Experience providing medical administrative support, such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records
