Healing Bridges is a small non profit behavioral health and developmental disabilities agency in Washington, PA. Our goal is to help individuals and families heal from the devastating symptoms of mental illness while also offering to help 'bridge' or link them with valuable resources in the community.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Medical Administrative Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Administrative Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office. Your attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and knowledge of medical terminology will be essential in providing excellent administrative support to our healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries, providing accurate information or directing calls to the appropriate staff
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
- Update and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist with medical billing and insurance claims processing
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Manage medical office supplies inventory
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organized office environment
Skills:
- Proficiency in fast paced medical office procedures and protocols
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA regulations
- Experience with electronic health record systems (Credible) preferred
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher, etc.) as well as other office equipment (Fax, printer, copier, scanner, etc.).
- Great multitasking skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Familiarity with phone systems and handling multiple phone lines
