Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) in Moorestown, New Jersey is seeking a full-time Summer Intern Mechanical Engineer candidate to join the RF Front-End and Power Design Center in support of Sensor and Effector Hardware Products. As a summer intern, you will be working in an exciting engineering and production environment with state of the art hardware and systems. This work will include teaming with other engineers in various disciplines to develop best-in-class products and solutions. You will join teams engaged in the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced sensor hardware products, including the support of technical data packages, design reviews, supplier engagement, and lab & test facility activities. You will contribute to a wide variety of projects as our business needs evolve. The ability to take responsibility for increasingly difficult tasks, complete them on schedule, while documenting and presenting results is expected.
The successful candidate will have experience with or knowledge of Mechanical Engineering, which may include:
Mechanical (Design) Engineering:
CREO solid modelling or compatible tool, metal fabrication (sheet metal, machining), Circuit Card Layout, Design for Manufacturability, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances
- Composite materials experience with knowledge of unmanned air systems
Mechanical (Environmental) Engineering:
- Structural / Thermal Analysis experience with ANSYS Finite Element Analysis or compatible tool
- Working knowledge of Mechanical / Electronics Packaging / Material Properties
- Packaging electronic equipment in multiple military environments

Basic Qualifications
- Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering degreed program at a college or university.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance.
Desired skills
- Experience with solid modelling, CREO preferred
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEM) in the areas of mechanical and/or thermal analysis, ANSYS preferred
- Experience with electronics
- Desire to learn and contribute positively on engineering projects
- Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $20,904 - $67,288. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full time employees: accrue 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO); receive 40 hours of Granted PTO annually for incidental absences; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of PTO per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO is prorated based on hours worked and start date during the calendar year.
