Coronet continues to grow and exceed expectations in producing high-end architectural luminaires quickly and efficiently. We are currently seeking a New Product Designer to join the Product Development team. The individual will be responsible for designing New Products and making improvements to existing ones.
Primary Responsibilities
- Ability to develop a product from concept through production
- Creation of 3D models and assemblies
- Product Documentation; including Bills of Materials, installation sheets, and specification data sheet
- Interact with suppliers to understand manufacturing restrictions
- Knowledge of fabrication techniques required to build in sheet-metal, metal and plastic extrusion, die-cast, thermoform and plastic injection
- Work with Manufacturing throughout development process to facilitate smooth transfer of New Products into production. Includes detailed assembly documentation and utilizing input to design for manufacturing while adhering to performance, aesthetic and cost goals.
- Ability to manage the scope, timeline and budget of the project
Skills and Knowledge
- Must be proficient in SolidWorks
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Full proficiency in MS Office (Word; Excel; Outlook)
- Ability to think creatively and bring ideas to the table
- Excellent organizational skill
- BS in Mechanical Engineering
- 4-6 years experience in the lighting industry is required
