Position: Mechanical Designer

Job Type: Full-time, Hourly
Mechanical Designer Role:
● The Mechanical Designer will provide design services to support the marketing and operational objectives of the organization.The designer/design engineer would be the technical lead on design projects and/or new product development
Mechanical Designer Responsibilities (tasks associated with the role)
● Independently design and models for Vertical Shaft Impactors wear liner i.e., blow bars for various OEMs.
● Independently lead key projects using AutoDESK inventor, Geomagic and other tools.
● Fully utilize Autodesk Inventor (Version 18 or above) to create new CAD models of complex cone crusher components and assemblies, and detailed mechanical drawings.
● Ensures compliance with required design standards, manuals, safety factors, geometric tolerances, and customer, marketing, and engineering specifications.
● Execute an engineering change order (ECO) in a timely manner with minimal supervision using Autodesk Professional Vault and AutoDESK
FUSION Manage applications.
● Evaluates tolerance stack-ups to ensure proper fit of components and proper application of GD&T techniques.
● Initiate conceptual designs and models which address the requirements from the end-customer.
● Accompany Account managers to mine site and support scanning of liners inside the mills and crushers for reverse engineering and/or wear tracking report.
● Support a variety of commercial initiatives including wear studies and reverse engineering data collection. Proficient with Laser Scanning
Technologies (FARO etc.) and how to leverage it in the mineral processing area including but not limited to wear tracking of mill liners and crusher products.
● Interface with service manager and Marketing Account Managers to develop conceptual designs.
● Gather operational data from end-customers through marketing groups to validate the performance of new design.
● Verify and validate computational results with experimental test data.
● Develop technical reports, presentations, and other documentation to support the sales and marketing group.
● Recommend design changes to meet or exceed product performance requirements.
● Participate in team brainstorming sessions and conduct design reviews.
● Travel to other company locations and customer sites.
Mechanical Designer Requirements ( and expected proficiencies to excel in this role)
● 4-Year Degree in Mechanical Engineering or advanced design degree in related field required.
● Experience working or supplier for the construction industry
● Experience in the application, design and manufacturing of Blow bars is required.
● AutoDESK inventor or similar CAD modeling software experience required.
● AutoDESK Vault Professional ex
● Top-downmodeling and 3D parameterization techniques a plus
● Foundry or mining background a plus!
● Project management training or experience managing specific projects
Mechanical Designer Pay:
● $65-80K

Salary: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
