Honeywell is launching the development of a new family of gas turbine engines that will help shape the future of the aerospace industry. Honeywell is hiring engineers in the areas of design, analysis, controls, test, and project management to accomplish this challenging new feat. Honeywell has an opening for an engineer in the Mechanical Systems Engineering group responsible for the design and analysis of bearings, gears and splines, seals, and lubrications systems for propulsion engines, auxiliary power units and engine gearboxes. The scope of this position includes using state-of-the-art software tools and methods and supporting Technical Excellence Teams to capture and publish analysis practices and guidelines. The position may involve test rig design, operation, and data collection and analysis. Analytical results may be presented in design reviews and will be recorded in appropriate documentation to meet program deliverables and requirements. Applicant must work effectively with design teams, global support and chief engineers.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
You Must Have:
Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
Due to ITAR requirements, must be a US Citizen or Legal U.S. Permanent Resident Alien (Green Card Holder)
Minimum 18 years of relevant engineering experience in the fluid mechanics and heat transfer
We Value:
Masters or PhD degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or relevant Engineering
Advanced understanding and application of disciplines in high speed machinery for one or more of these areas: Bearings, Gears & splines, Air & oil seals Lubrication systems
Familiarity with Mechanical Systems for gas turbine engines
Familiarity with flow system finite-element modeling and analysis software
Familiarity with mechanical component rig testing.
Experience using advanced numerical simulation codes (for example, OSU Load Distribution Program, ANSYS, Romax, etc)
Knowledge of Six Sigma tools and application
Under minimal supervision, ensure that tasks are appropriately defined, supported and achieved in a timely manner.
Ability to juggle many priorities and competing demands easily and effectively
