We are expanding the R&D team located in the North America Innovation and Technology Center in Mesa AZ. Who Are We...
MCAM is a manufacturing services company. We service markets including aerospace, medical, semiconductor and other markets. Our capabilities include carbon fiber processing, compounding, molding, extrusion, machining, fabrication, assembly, and inspection. We provide material solutions, engineering support, stock shapes, near net shapes, precision components, and assemblies.
What You Will Do...
- Optimizes processes for initial and long-term scaling of new designs and processes for the designs
- Works directly with other engineers and skilled technicians to build and optimize designs and product technologies
- Conduct and direct hands-on laboratory and scale up trials to validate conceptual technologies
- Assist in driving company's sustainability, conduct research in thermoplastic composites recycling and deliver viable recycled material solutions to customers
- Work in partnerships with global process engineers, production, and sales teams to develop technologies and mature them to suitable readiness level for transfer to production, providing support throughout the New Product and Development Introduction (NPDI) process
- Effectively communicate results through presentations and reports. Provide full, complete, and accurate documentation of all work as required by SOPs and Company policies and procedures
- Manages the transfer of manufacturing technologies from concept to pilot to full production
- Assist in designing systems to manufacture new products including design of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems and integration.
- Collaborating with the technology and commercial teams to design and build next generation polymer components and carbon composites.
- Working with leading global OEM customers to convert existing metallic designs into composite structures
- Transitioning of new products into manufacturing by driving efficient scale-up of manufacturing processes
- Developing and carrying out performance tests on new products to characterize and document performance and establish specifications.
- Designing, executing, and analyzing experiments based on DOE approach and compiling findings.
- Developing, troubleshooting, and refining manufacturing processes, and equipment
- Develop and oversee test programs as needed to evaluate components and systems
- Other duties as assigned
What You Will Have...
- Minimum BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or other engineering field
- 5+ yrs experience in Mechanical Design with related hands-on manufacturing experience
- In-depth knowledge and proficiency with SolidWorks or similar 3D modeling software. Candidate must be proficient in utilizing the design platform with a strong practical working knowledge
- Experience working effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and ability to apply this knowledge to manufacturing and product design
- Use advanced analytical and product Design Engineering software tools
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, initiate, and drive projects to completion
- Ability to think outside the box and develop novel products and equipment
- Experience working with external suppliers, especially in the development of products, processes, specifications, and design/technology transfer
- Working knowledge of drawings, specifications, and dimensional tolerances

The salary range for this position is $67,000- $93,000. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered. This salary will be subject to a geographic adjustment (according to a specific city and state), if an authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting.
