Materials Specialist/Administrator

We help clients deliver successful products by providing scaled production, design-for-manufacturing expertise, supplier consolidation and other critical value chain services.   About the Role Due to growth at Sterling Industries, we have an opening for a Materials Specialist Monday to Friday (8:00am-4:30pm). The Materials Specialist is responsible for providing support services to the production, purchasing, finance and operational departments through documented procedures and standardized work.   MAJOR DUTIES: * Monitor and enter all incoming sales orders and communicate discrepancies to internal teams. * Create and process daily shipment paperwork, labels and ASNs * Create, close and backflush work orders for production * Work closely with the production team to ensure orders are on schedule, will meet customer due dates, and communicate any discrepancies * Filing of documentation * Maintain proper inventory of office, production, and facility supplies * Assists with weekly cycle count and inventory management processes * Assists production and materials teams with purchasing and planning activities * Enter and file receipts from suppliers * Develop and implement continuous improvement projects within areas of involvement * Other duties as assigned   POSITION REQUIREMENTS * High School Diploma * 1-2 years of Materials experience * Ability to multi-task and work with a cross-functional team * High level of attention to detail * Understanding of continuous improvement * Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, Project, and PowerPoint) * Experience with ERP/MRP programs, experience with Sage preferred   Benefits: Full time employees are offered a comprehensive benefit package including: * 401(k) with 1:1 match * Dental insurance * Disability insurance * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Referral program * Vision insurance   We will review applications as they are received.
