You'll have...
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years’ experience in Manufacturing 2+ years’ experience in Microsoft Office
Even better, you may have...
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 5+ years’ manufacturing plant experience
- 5+ years’ experience in Manufacturing
- 2+ years’ computer skills (Microsoft Office/Excel/Word/PowerPoint), AutoCAD, Access
- 1+ years’ experience in Packaging and Containerization disciplines
- Knowledge of lean material flow strategies & lean manufacturing processes
- Ability to design equipment, packaging and dunnage
- 1+ years’ experience in Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) systems Ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication

What you'll do...
- Initiate corrective actions to alleviate part quality concerns related to dunnage or handling
- Support lean manufacturing continuous improvement (decanted marketplace, small lot containerization, flexible linefeed, returnable containerization, etc.).
- Manage Ford-owned container and Material Handling maintenance projects
- Manage stock piles, external warehousing, and logistics (supporting part re-pack, rust-proofing, container repair, dunnage washing, and long-term part storage).
- Develop internal packaging/dunnage specifications
- Work with teams, operators, and Material Handling to improve workstation material delivery and presentation.
- Develop layout proposals for unique operations or line rebalances.
- Specify, purchase, and coordinate the installation of Material Handling linefeed equipment
- Complete cost studies, capital improvement budget projects, forecasting packaging costs, MH equipment requirements, floor space effect, material flow impact, and synchronous material flow system support.
- Support new model programs and capacity alternative planning
- Determine container fleet size
- Review MP&L manpower and operations to identify and implement efficiencies
- Work with suppliers and staff packaging engineering to resolve packaging quality concerns, establish and/or revise packaging to comply with specified guidelines, and address compliance issues
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization
