Job Description
Our Logistics team is looking for a Material Handler to help support the Air and Space Force Solutions program and be a part of an innovative, dedicated team. As part of this team, you will have responsibilities that span the entire warehousing lifecycle, including receiving, verification, shipping, documentation, and packaging.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of ERP systems for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting material for inbound and outbound shipments
- Ability to receive incoming materials for shipment. (Un)packs or (un)wraps items such as finished products, raw stock, assemblies, parts, building materials, office supplies, equipment, etc
- Ability to verify quantity, weight, and conformance of materials to stated identifications, log receipt of items on system, process freight bills, packing sheets, and other documents: report materials shipped and bills of lading: post weight and shipping charges
- Performs a wide variety of standard and specialized preservation and/or packing work using various protective cushioning and bracing techniques for custom packing of a variety of items to sometimes include hazardous materials to ensure safe and damage free movement
- Use and maintain various types of hand and/or power tools such as hand, radial, and circular saws; hammers, joiners and squares, etc
- Interpret engineering drawings and/or blueprints for the purposes of packing, crating and bracing oversized radar equipment
- Safely operate forklift trucks to handle controls for starting, stopping, backing, lifting, lowering, tilting, and driving fork lift trucks through narrow aisles, up and down ramps, and in and out of trucks; and to safely drive and operate a motor vehicle to manipulate controls for starting, stopping, backing, and driving vehicles in all types of traffic and road conditions and in judging overhead, side clearance, turning radius, and braking distance
- Work inside and outside in areas that may be hot, damp, cold, and poorly lighted. May be exposed to dust, grease, dirt, and high noise areas
- Perform duties in a safe manner, utilizing safety procedures and complying with established safety rules and regulations
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- HS Diploma or GED and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience in warehousing packing and crating of related materials
- Ability to perform and understand required measurements and dimensions
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, calculation of percentages) to ensure understanding of planning
- Ability to manage conflict and participate in team activities
