As a Marketing Manager, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people in San Antonio. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Lead Marketing Campaigns: Spearhead the development and implementation of both digital and traditional marketing campaigns, aiming to enhance the zoo’s brand awareness.
- Website Management and Digital Engagement: Oversee the organization's WordPress website, focusing on driving traffic and increasing online sales through improved user experience, effective SEO and SEM strategies, and continuous content updates.
- Media Partnership Development: Work collaboratively with local media entities to optimize media buys, securing added value and trade opportunities to support our marketing efforts.
- Digital Advertising Expertise: Manage and creatively direct paid advertising initiatives on social media platforms to boost attendance and revenue.
- Innovative Email Marketing: Craft and execute impactful email marketing campaigns in HubSpot for different segments like Memberships, Development, and Education, aiming to grow our audience base.
- Leadership and Team Development: Lead a team of Marketing Coordinators, Specialists, and Interns, providing clear direction and nurturing an environment conducive to professional growth and excellence.
- Promotional Materials Management: Oversee the production of promotional content and signage within the zoo, ensuring consistency and alignment with our brand and marketing objectives.
- Creative Direction and Content Management: Maintain the highest standards of creative and content quality across all marketing channels, ensuring consistent messaging and adherence to our brand identity.
- Analytics: Employ data analytics to assess the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, adjusting strategies based on insights to optimize outcomes.
- Collaborative Efforts Across Departments: Engage with internal teams to ensure that marketing activities are integrated with and support the broader goals of the organization.
- Building Strong Internal Relationships: Cultivate and maintain positive, productive relationships within the team, reflecting a commitment to excellent guest service and the mission of the zoo.
- Creative Excellence in Content Production: Utilize design platforms like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva to produce visually appealing marketing materials that resonate with our target audience.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, the San Antonio Zoo recommends the following skills/qualifications:
- Must have at least three (3) years of marketing experience.
- One (1) years management and/or supervisor experience required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related business field required.
- Preferred experience in tourism, hospitality or ticketed attractions.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to adapt communication style to a number of different audiences.
- Possess strong knowledge of cloud-based content management systems.
- Proficient in web design (Preferably in WordPress), including SEO and SEM strategies. Google Certified is a plus.
- Proficient in creative design platforms like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Canva.
- Demonstrated success in the execution of digital advertising campaigns.
- Must have a creative eye and be able to effectively communicate creative direction for various advertising and marketing assets including digital, social, television, radio, signage, etc.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects with both internal and external clients.
- Must be enthusiastic in a demanding and fast paced environment.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays and occasional after-hour assignments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operating office equipment.
- Must be willing to learn new software as required.
