REPORTS TO: Managing Director
Fast-growing, dynamic public, non-profit organization is seeking a Marketing & Graphics Coordinator interested in growing their marketing management career at the Lancaster Event Center Fairgrounds (LEC). You will manage all aspects of marketing strategy and execution to strengthen LEC's brands (including also Super Fair, NHSFR), event bookings, customer attendance and satisfaction, profitable revenue and community support for our mission which is to further local engagement with agriculture & serve our youth, community and economy.
Lancaster Event Center (LEC) is a nationally-recognized event center with 400,000 square feet of multiuse spaces on 160 acres with two newly-opened outdoor events spaces: the 10th largest event center campground (1,300 sites) in the USA and a newly expanded outdoor multisport grandstand arena. Now home to over 300 events with 500-600K visitor days annually, the LEC drives over $50-65 million in local economic impact while providing affordable space for local youth, community and business events. The LEC is owned and operated by the Lancaster County Agricultural Society which organizes and produces the largest county fair in Nebraska each summerthe Lancaster County Super Fair-which draws over 100K visitors over 10 days in late July/early August annually.
AVAILABILITY:
•Full-time, in-person
•Hours usually M-F daytime, will vary with some evenings, nights and/or weekend hours and some overtime as needed around LEC's largest events
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
•Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, advertising, graphics or similar field preferred
•Minimum 2 years full-time marketing experience
•Recent college graduates with one year of full-time experience and minimum one year of equivalent related Marketing & Graphics creation experience in summer, part-time and volunteer positions are encouraged to apply
•Must prioritize availability for LEC's largest facility-wide events each year such as the annual Super Fair (2023: July 31 - August 12, 2023) and the National High School Finals Rodeo (NHSFR) in July 2026 and July 2027. We will likewise work around your desired time off as much as possible.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
•Lead out on the development and execution of strategic marketing plans for LEC and Super Fair and other key events such as the NHSFR starting with updating & communicating brand logo, style & messaging guides.
•Create graphic & copy assets for digital, social, print, radio, TV advertising & LEC-owned channels.
•Lead on LEC website weekly updates and periodic upgrades to drive event bookings, online merchandise sales, event attendance & cuts down calls to LEC; manage special Super Fair and NHSFR sites.
•Manage social media channels maintaining a consistent content calendar that meets marketing goals & responsive to customer questions.
•Create PR campaigns and assets-press releases, media kits, web pages.
•Manage LEC's media relationships and garner earned media coverage.
•Manage system to capture, create & organize photo, videography assets year-round from LEC's 300 events with LEC staff, clients and media partners.
•Creates and evaluates quarterly and annual reports to provide insights for improvement.
•Hire, train and manage the development of marketing intern(s), especially for Super Fair and NHSFR.
•Keep accurate track of invoices and manage marketing budgets.
•Be a part of our ONE teamassist with other departments that may include ticketing,
food & beverage services, event management, etc. for LEC's biggest events.
•Regularly researches & attends webinars & trainings on latest marketing trends as time allows.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS:
•Excellent creative, copy writing and proofing skills. Photo & video editing a plus.
•Effective, persuasive communication skills-in person, phone, email, oral/written
•Ability to use & constantly learn new software capabilities including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint), creative software including In Design, Adobe creative suite and learn Ungerboeck website software (Joomla) and social media platform managers.
•Familiarity with social media, broadcast media, and/or PR all a plus but Managing Director has 20+ years marketing experience and can train as needed and you will have access to a leading local marketing agency to supplement your knowledge as needed.
•Bonus to have paid, volunteer or "growing up" experience with 4-H, FFA, agriculture, Extension, Chamber of Commerce/tourism, event organizing, hospitality industry and/or other local business/service groups.
•Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, to work both sitting or standing inside & outside.

•Have an affinity or willingness to learn about agriculture, animals, or variety of passions represented at events held at a fairgrounds (see our calendar online)

PAY:
•Salary $41,600 to start with 3 month and annual pay reviews based on performance
