Summary
The primary responsibility of the Marketing & Events Associate is to support the marketing and communications efforts of Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League while coordinating onsite community events and offsite 3rd party events. Responsibilities include the creation and management of event logistics, promotions, and sponsor and vendor relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Manage community, adoption, and 3rd party events
- Maintain events calendar and timelines
- Work synergistically with all League departments to plan, market, and execute on-site events (Spay Days, Adoption, Community Fundraisers etc.)
- Coordination of adoptable animals required for events
- Collaborate with the Graphic Designer, PR Contractor, and Digital Media Coordinator to fulfill event marketing campaign needs including coordinating TV and radio spots, copywriting for print and advertising, email marketing, website updates, and social media strategy
- Run the day-of logistics, including working with vendors, coordinating with sponsors, for on-site events
- Maintain event revenue and budget - including submitting purchase orders and keeping detailed records
- Manage logistics, applications, and reporting for 3rd party events (Bark Back Benefit, Greenmarkets, Sip & Shops, etc.)
- Support general marketing activities
- Engage and train Peggy Adams staff and volunteers to assist with community events and marketing needs
Qualifications

- Experience in event coordination including planning, production, and management
- Experience creating marketing and communications campaigns, including digital, press and advertising, copywriting, and budgets
- Position requires some nights and weekends as related to special events and activities
- Position requires interaction with dogs and cats
- Excellent project management and communication skills required.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to manage numerous projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Flexibility in adapting to changing priorities
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Ability to work effectively with volunteers, staff and others
- Provide the image consistent with the League values and goals
- Support the Animal Rescue League's mission, policies and practices
- Must have reliable transportation to events and meetings
- Possession of a valid Florida Driver's license and driving record acceptable to insurance carrier
- Bilingual, a plus
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree with two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination
- of education and experience
- Non-profit experience preferred
Computer Skills
- Computer experience with data base management and publishing programs
- Experience in website management
- Experience with social media implementation
- Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience working with CRM software, Raisers Edge a plus
