Overview

We are currently seeking a creative, organized, and dynamic Marketing Coordinator! This position will provide marketing and administrative support to the VP/Associate Publisher and Senior Director, Marketing of our Ecco imprint. Ecco is an author-centric imprint with a progressive spirit whose mission is to publish a select list of eclectic, diverse, and forward-thinking books.

This is a terrific opportunity to join an enthusiastic, dedicated team that combines the resources of a major publishing house with the heart and history of an independent press. Founded in 1971 by Daniel Halpern, Ecco joined HarperCollins in 1999 and is home to both legendary authors and new talents. Our titles include top literary and commercial fiction, science and nature, biography, politics, poetry, cookbooks, memoir, literature in translation, and rediscovered classics. Our authors have won numerous prizes and awards, including the Nobel Prize, the Pulitzer Prize, the National Book Award, and many others.

This is a hybrid position based out of our New York office.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with title marketing as assigned, executing marketing campaigns, developing author platforms, and creating ad campaigns.
  • Supports Senior Marketing Director on major marketing campaigns.

  • Manages the day-to-day of the imprint's social media presence with a focus on Instagram and Goodreads and oversees our early reviewer and influencer programs.

  • Designs visual assets for social media, sales, and retailer websites; photographs books for social campaigns.

  • Creates landing pages and coordinates assets for sweepstakes, preorder campaigns, and other major social promotions.

  • Coordinates materials and presentations for sales and marketing meetings and assists in building and maintaining the seasonal catalogs.

  • Manages the marketing material inventory and solicits galley orders.

  • Assists with the advertising schedule and routes invoices and approvals as needed.

  • Performs administrative duties as necessary (including mailings, invoices, scheduling meetings, and more).

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of prior relevant work experience
  • College degree or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management

  • Creative problem solver with the ability to set priorities while under pressure

  • Excellent communication and writing skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Canva

  • Proficiency with social media, particularly social media marketing and content creation on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.

  • Knowledge of Photoshop/InDesign, basic HTML, and video editing a plus

  • Knowledge of social media reporting and monitoring tools a plus

The salary for this position is $50,700. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
