Summary
To provide the highest quality of service and food products to our customers at all times. Ability to deal with people in a tactful, helpful and friendly manner. Responsibilities include setting-up the various tray line stations with appropriate, flatware, hot/cold food items, condiments, beverages, etc. Serves and replenishes food and breaks down stations at end of meal periods.
Responsibilities may include cleaning of department floors, removing trash and cleaning of restrooms. Other duties include, care and cleaning of walls, lights, windows, doors and equipment. As requested may help in dish room, delivering/retrieving patient carts and washing pots. Other responsibilities may include setting-up the dish room, delivering/retrieving patient carts, scraps dirty plates, washes dishes, reads and insures dials on dishwasher are correct, sweeps and mops floors, removes trash and washes pots. Responsibilities may include setting-up the various hot/cold stations, beverage station, salad bar, condiment area, soups, flatware area, etc. Serves and replenishes food and breaks down stations at end of meal periods. Able to operate a cash register, receiving cash, checks and charges from customers or employees, making change and issuing receipts or tickets to customers. Must be able to understand and follow cash department handling procedures and policies. Capable of lifting and moving supplies, equipment, furniture and food. May on occasion train or provide guidance to other Food Service workers. Is expected to clean and sanitize equipment, work stations, counters, steam tables, etc to maintain acceptable sanitation levels.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum of 6-12 months experience in either a retail business or institutional Food Service establishment or establishment requiring customer service skills. Experience operating basic kitchen equipment (slicer, griddle, char-broiler, knives, dish machine) required. Basic computer and telephone skills. Composure, Integrity and Trust, Interpersonal Savvy, Personal Learning, Listening, Creativity, Customer Focus, Valuing Diversity, Time Management, Organization, Basic Computer Literacy.Ability to lift and move supplies or equipment weighing 50 pounds or more. Ability to perform repetitive procedures and stand for long periods of time. Will be able to bend/stoop and squat. Able to reach high and low into cabinets, shelves, etc. Occasionally will twist/turn while lifting from a storage shelf , cart or counter top. Able to push/pull carts with up to 50 pounds. Able to see adequately to operate equipment safely and effectively. Can recognize and respond to the smell of leaking gas or burning food.
