Overview:

St. John Fisher University is an independent, liberal arts institution that provides a transformative education to approximately 3,800 undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students each year. The Wegmans School of Pharmacy prepares pharmacists for lives of intellectual, professional, and civic integrity. The Wegmans School of Pharmacy is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education ( ACPE ), a specialized accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Job Responsibilities:

The Continuing Professional Education ( CPE ) coordinator at WSOP facilitates the planning, set-up, communication, accreditation and delivery of the program for preceptors, alumni, faculty and area pharmacists. The person must possess initiative, be able to work independently and provide outstanding service while leading a progressive program and supporting the institutions strategic initiatives. This includes seeking external programming opportunities and developing relationships with outside entities.

Project Management (40%)

· Enter programs into internal database; import information from external sources into database as needed.

· Initiate and maintain program files, tracking outstanding task items for each program.

· Initiate and maintain project budgets. Implement project accounting and financial functions in accordance with university fiscal policy.

· Write and edit co-sponsorship (educational) agreements/grants, starting with a template or example.

· Track and coordinate the review and signature of co-sponsorship (educational) agreements/grants and letters of agreement from financial supporters.

· Prepare and manage faculty guidance materials and correspondence.

· Interact with faculty and speakers on required paperwork for accreditation.

· Manage review of content by external reviewers; determine when needed.

· Create and edit text (final production-level quality) as needed for promotional materials, educational content, and all materials distributed in relation to a program.

· Manage program review process and write program summaries.

· Manage publicity for CE programs, including the writing and editing of brochures and program descriptions, and management of mailing lists (US mail and e-mail).

· Analyze office processes and find more efficient ways to accomplish the desired end results.

Educational Design and Support (30%)

· Work with CPE committee to analyze content of proposed programs to determine whether the content is appropriate for pharmacists or technicians, that the content matches the learning objectives, and that the content is free from bias.

· Edit or re-write learning objectives and program titles as needed.

· Verify active learning methods, and design them, if needed.

· Verify learning assessment methods, and design them, if needed.

· Design, check, and tabulate program and speaker evaluations; analyze results. Apply results of program and speaker evaluations to future educational programs.

· Review, edit, and produce educational materials (including audio recordings) submitted by speakers.

· Manage the process for converting a recorded live program to either an enduring print program, or an enduring online educational program.

· Review enduring content for copyright requirements and manage process for obtaining permissions.

· Coordinate the Residency Teaching Certificate program

Accreditation Process (20%):

· Answer inquiries about the accreditation process and determine appropriateness of proposed programs for pharmacist or technician accreditation.

· Apply the accreditation standards of the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education ( ACPE ) to individual continuing education programs either designed by WSOP or by external parties seeking accreditation for a program.

· Determine basis of contact hours and whether proposed program credit is correct.

· Determine type of CE (knowledge, application, practice).

· Use ACPE Provider Web Tool to initiate program file with ACPE .

· Review, update, and design new policies and procedures of the Office of Continuing Pharmacy Education as needed.

· Assist in the preparation for the continuing pharmacy education accreditation reports.

Business Development Support (10%)

· Answer queries about the design and accreditation of new projects with either internal or external partners.

· Review and update, as needed, the CE section of the School of Pharmacy website.

· Help design and manage an on-going process of needs assessment and market analysis.

· Initiate, or assist in the preparation of, grant proposals.

· Support the process of finding and developing opportunities in the educational arena.

· Assist with strategic planning for WSOP

Education / Experience:

B.S. degree in Management or comparable field.

Competencies / Skills:

· Ability to multitask and prioritize in a very busy work environment.

· Exercise sound judgment.

· Maintain high level of confidentiality.

Work Hours:

Monday through Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm

Summer hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00am-4:30pm, 8am-noon on Fridays
