Position Overview

As a Marketing and Communications Intern, you will play a crucial role in supporting our YU US Marketing and Communications team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of marketing, corporate communications, and brand management. You’ll collaborate with seasoned professionals, contribute to strategic initiatives, and help shape our brand identity.

Based in our Austin, Texas Headquarters. 20-30 hours per week. A blend of onsite and remote depending on the candidates schedule. 

This will not be a 100% remote position.

Responsibilities

Corporate Communications:

• • Assist in writing and editing communications materials, including company newsletters, announcements, and internal memos.
  • Manage updates and content on the company’s intranet platform.
  • Coordinate with Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to ensure effective communication across the organization.
  • Provide support for company events, both virtual and in-person.

Rebranding Documents:

• • Tackle the backlog of rebranding documents from the previous Siemens branding to the current YU branding.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistency and alignment with the new brand guidelines.

Website SEO Updates:

• • Work closely with the digital marketing team to optimize website content for search engines.
  • Implement SEO best practices to enhance online visibility and user experience.

Financial Oversight of Tradeshows:

• • Assist in managing budgets and financial aspects related to industry tradeshows and events.
  • Monitor expenses, track invoices, and ensure cost-effective participation.

Purchase Order Management:

• • Handle purchase orders for marketing materials, services, and other related expenses.
  • Maintain accurate records and coordinate with vendors.

Additional Tasks (Depending on Skill Set):

• • Writing: Contribute to content creation, such as blog posts, social media updates, and press releases.
  • Social Media: Assist in managing and curating content for our social media platforms.
  • Video Editing: Support video production and editing for promotional materials.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experince with Word Press. Adobe and Canva would be ideal.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and basic SEO concepts is a plus.
