About the Role
ZT Systems is seeking a Materials Manager to manage a group of team members to oversee, maintain, and manage our engineering inventory. This position will be based in Secaucus, NJ, and is responsible for the ordering, organizing, and controlling of the materials used for engineering. The core purpose of the team is to:
1. Oversee the inventory integrity for engineering material.

• Driving for engineering material accuracy in classification, quantity, and storage locations
• Preventing exposure by the timely disposition of aging inventory
• Performing cycle count routines to reduce inventory discrepancy

2. Develop and improve processes to increase efficiency and effectiveness in engineering materials management.

• Training new engineering team members on engineering material processes
• Closing process gaps and improving execution efficiency by working with cross-functional teams.
• Adopting and integrating company-wide inventory tools and processes, like SAP, and customer inventory requirements.

3. Manage the team toward achieving business goals.

• Planning for headcount including hiring, training, and development for team members.
• Achieving functional goals in efficient use of engineering materials and team resources.

What Team/You Will Do

• Manage timely material movements into and out of engineering lab areas with accurate classification, quantity, and stockroom locations.
• Ensure timely unloading, receiving, storing, and delivery of material to the engineering labs.
• Accurately maintain all required documentation and record-keeping for transactions
• Maintain and issue inventory reporting, including inventory accuracy and scrap processing.
• Assist in expediting material movements from the main warehouse and to the outbound shipping areas.
• Manage logistics and shipment of engineering materials including to internal teams, customers, and vendors.
• Ensure lab areas are maintained in a clean, organized and safe manner.
• Create job orders for engineering prototype builds.
• Generate engineering material analytical reports to drive engineering material core metrics.

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant working experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. Computer Hardware experience preferred.
• 3+ years experience leading, mentoring and managing a group of professionals.
• Knowledge of principles and procedures used in material handling and logistics operations and practices.
• Proficiency with Enterprise Resource Systems (Syspro, Agile, SAP or others)
• Strong organizational skills, command skills, and attention to detail - ability to manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously.
• Time and people management skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule tasks for the most efficient use of time.
• Interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with perseverance and professionalism.
