Position Summary:
The Materials Management Coordinator assumes responsibility for smooth operation of the Bridgewater Ambulatory Surgery Center Materials Management systems.
Maintains and controls the computer inventory system. Responsible for all Materials Management functions including preparation of orders, receiving and storage of supplies and maintaining records of orders. Works directly with the Executive Director in the preparation of case cost analysis and supply and equipment contracts. Works directly with the Accounts Payable Department to meet monthly closing requirements.
Makes recommendations to improve the cost effectiveness of the facility’s purchasing practices. Supports the management group in maintaining compliance with the administrative requirements as defined by the Board, State, AAAHC and the facility’s executive management group.
Qualifications:
High School diploma is required.
Prior experience working in healthcare Materials Management with inventory control,
shipping and receiving background.
Experience in Operating Room resource management is preferred for this role.
Computer skills in Materials Management is essential.
The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate and interact with people of many different responsibilities. Be able to remain calm during difficult interactions involving physicians and their offices and other departments. Excellent communications skills are essential. Detail oriented, multi-tasking skills, telephone experience, computers, fax, copiers, and general office equipment, as well as an understanding of medical terminology.
