Manager, Procurement - Raw Materials

Job Summary:
Manage the strategic procurement for the Raw Materials for Shiseido Americas while maintaining lowest total cost possible, at agreed upon service and cash levels. Responsible for Raw Materials across all brands (Shiseido, NARS, Drunk Elephant, etc.) and product lines (color cosmetics, skin care, fragrance, etc.). Directly responsible to manage a spend of one or more categories approximately $30MM - $40MM. Support regionalization efforts by indirectly leading and influencing the raw material spend of other business entities. Lead the category/supplier segmentation work for their category. Work in partnership with R&D on new innovations while maintaining lowest cost and increase value. Support of procurement best practices to achieve a top tier company. Drive ownership and accountability for service, cost and cash throughout all levels of the procurement group.
FUNCTIONS:

• Develop category segmentation for all materials to allow for further classification and analysis of Raw Materials
• Identify primary feedstock's and ingredients to benchmark historical performance and possibly forecast future price movements.
• Responsible for identifying and implementing alternative suppliers, alternative materials, and supply agreements where applicable.
• Develop sourcing strategies for all materials based on the total cost of ownership.
• Work with suppliers to create the partnership that helps to bring new innovation to Shiseido.
• Work on new innovations (end to end) in their category to make sure we are paying the lowest possible cost, and it meets the timeline
• Create and execute strategies for their category.
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and use harmonize processes and tools.
• Lead supplier segmentation, rate card, contract negotiations, etc for assigned categories.
• Develop annual cost savings, cash glide paths and action plans to deliver the corporate objectives for continuous improvement in cost and cash.

• Lead in defining aligned and documenting processes that support the Procurement best practices.
• Lead the development of skills and capabilities in the category leads reporting to them to deliver a top tier company.
• Develop and monitor the use of appropriate KPI's to measure and improve the effectiveness of the key elements of the procurement organization.
• Work with NPD group to make sure new launches time line, cost and delivery as per the calendar are met.
• Be a part of supplier business review and lead commercial relationship and future strategies with suppliers.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• • 4-year academic degree, MBA a plus
  • Prefer procurement certificates.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years' experience operating in contract manufacturing procurement role, ideally in consumer goods industry.
  • Competent user of computerized IT systems - Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other associated scheduling, forecasting software packages
  • 3-5 years of experience working within a procurement tool (SAP, Ariba etc) environment at an advanced level
  • Travel as needed to visit suppliers, resolve issues etc. for new launches and ongoing business.
