As Managing Director of Operations, you are a change agent in taking an entrepreneurial approach to leading the operations of a multimillion dollar, multifamily portfolio comprised of apartment home communities.

 

This role can be based in Orlando, Tampa or Miami.   

 

Here are the roles you’ll play:


The Business Owner/Developer

  • Leverage your vast industry knowledge to identify gaps in performance, create targets for improvement and design the path forward including testing and scaling to ensure success
  • Analyze the performance across your markets and intelligently and aggressively underwrite new deals to meet stretch goals
  • Assist DOs with understanding their market drivers and respond quickly to shifts
  • Research industry trends and stay ahead of industry movement
  • Oversee fiduciary planning and governance, assess performance, create action plans to exceed goals, and engage in creative problem-solving – especially when it comes to residents
  • Operate with a forward-thinking owner’s mindset with a long term focus on growth, capability to scale larger and faster resulting in overall better asset and team performance.
  • Run your own asset operations mini empire by building on your already vast knowledge of the real estate world

The Team Leader

  • Function as the executive presence among your DO and community teams by setting the tone for how they operate, driving consistency and putting them in the position to score a winning goal every time
  • Mold and grow your teams according to the culture and goals set for your portfolio
  • Serve as a mentor who celebrates your teams’ successes and converts their slipups into positive learning experiences
  • Trust that your teams know how to make the right calls because you’ve set them up to do so and you lead by example
  • Develop the DOs understanding of organizational health, alignment, and

The Strategic Partner

  • Collaborate with the Investments team to ensure portfolio outperformance to their respective submarket
  • Form constructive partnerships with your regional support teams (Marketing, Facilities, and Training), Construction Management team (during renovations), and Operations Support team for maximum performance success
  • Display your in-depth understanding of managing budgets and executing financial success in your partnership with the Investment team and as you get hands-on with acquisitions and building pro forma
  • Recognize the health of the organization and play a critical role in the continued development/improvement
  • Be the glue that aligns your region with the rest of the organization and leads to operational alpha

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience and strategic leadership within the multi-family industry with a track record of innovative accomplishments, sophisticated business plan execution and high impact results.
  • A demonstrated record of accomplishment of successfully managing, building, and influencing teams, and grooming and growing additional leaders within the industry.
  • Flexibility to travel within your portfolio on a regular basis, and to other locations or meetings as need.  Anticipated travel 60% within designated market.
  • Able to work autonomously and remain ahead of challenges. 
  • Seek assistance when needed to continue outperformance.
