SUMMARY:To ensure the customer is always serviced first. To assist in achieving our growth and financial goals while balancing operating costs to generate a profit. To manage all Operational planning activities in accordance with company goals and objectives.

GENERAL
- Promote company’s Driver focused culture. Constant focus on improving employee satisfaction along with retention.
- Recognize and/or reward employee contributions (through written and verbal acknowledgement, accolades, etc.).
- Identify and address negative attitudes and poor performance with coaching and conflict resolution.
OPERATIONS
- Plan and direct Operations in line with our intent of always servicing the customer first and living up to our namesake guarantee.
- Serves as the company’s Driver Liaison. The Liaison is responsible for carrying out all retention efforts. This position provides regular reports on all driver retention initiatives and progress.
- Create and update dispatch plans and work with the Operations Supervisor in accordance with operational goals.
- Use/tracking of operational metrics to constantly adjust and revise operational practices and processes to align more closely with objectives.
OPERATIONAL SUPPORT
- Work with Safety department to ensure Fleet is following both Safety and Operations standards.
- Work closely with Human Resources Department to ensure compliance with company policy. Properly communicate company policies and plans to all Operations team members.
- Ensures all new hires are properly introduced and onboarded to the company.
- Collaborates on all Maintenance related items: breakdowns, preventative maintenance, truck assignments etc.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Handle requests/communication from customers in accordance with customer service standards.
- Assist Operations Supervisor with customer requests regarding scheduling freight, tracking, customer problem resolution, etc.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- A minimum of five years of transportation operations management experience, three years of liquid food grade experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office 2010 and transportation management systems.
- Ability to rapidly analyze issues, establish priorities, anticipate consequences, make decisions, and initiate action.
- Comfortable working in a high-stress environment and ability to stay calm under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive relationships with Driver Managers and Drivers.
- Strong communication skills (oral, written and listening) with motivational ability. Strong leader and team player.
- Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when performing essential duties. Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, interruptions and stressed Driver Managers and Drivers.
- Work may require more than 40 hours per week.
- Occasional travel is required.

Verbal and auditory requirements include the ability to communicate clearly over the telephone as well as in person. There is a moderate level of grasping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling of objects of less than 25 lbs.
