Manager, Strategic and Corporate Partnerships

The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber seeks a full-time Manager, Strategic and Corporate Partnerships to join the Events & Experiences team. The ideal candidate is collaborative and innovative, engaging both existing and prospective corporate partners with the goal of driving revenue for the Chamber’s community events including Asian Food Fest, Taste of Cincinnati, Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, and BLINK. This position will develop and execute strategies to acquire, grow, and retain corporate sponsors, advertisers, and partners to generate new and sustainable revenue streams that support the Chamber’s community events.
In this role, you will collaborate with teams across the organization and build positive relationships with new corporate partners to drive partnership development initiatives and exceed sales targets. You will also develop and oversee the execution of current Corporate Partnerships to maximize the returns from partner engagements. This position is responsible for interacting directly with sponsors and executing all elements found in sponsor contracts, including onsite event execution. Further, this individual will contribute to the overall vibrancy of our region, adding value to our community and creating experiences that enable our visitors and residents to celebrate and thrive.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify, develop, solicit, and secure new Corporate Partnerships to support community events including Asian Food Fest, Taste of Cincinnati, Oktoberfest, and BLINK.
  • Identify and assess partnership opportunities while establishing new client relationships utilizing various sales strategies, including but not limited to, research, cold calls, site visits, and outside sales calls.
  • Professionally communicate with external and internal stakeholders to develop creative pitches, sponsorship packages, and comparable benefits for existing and potential partners.
  • Work in conjunction with Event Production team, Marketing department, onsite contractors and partners, to ensure assets assigned to sponsor activations are executed accurately.
  • Event responsibilities include activation setup, entertaining clients and fulfilling sponsorship contract obligations.
  • Develop and implement a working process to effectively communicate and execute sponsor agreements and activations with Event Production team, Marketing department, and onsite contractors and partners.
  • Plan out the timeline for and execution of each element in the sponsor contract including, but not limited to social media and digital marketing deliverables, onsite presence through activations and signage, website presence, etc.
  • Implement and attend planning meetings; brainstorm with sponsors on how to best meet their goals and utilize their sponsorship dollars.
  • Build and manage the recap process, including the preparation and delivery of partner recaps.
  • Responsible for preparing partnership proposals for current and prospective partners, invoicing, and following up on outstanding accounts receivables.
  • Fiscal responsibility with departmental budget expenses.
  • Ability to develop strong, long-term relationships with both clients and co-workers.
  • Business aptitude to understand and manage client needs and organizational goals to create unique and innovative revenue generating programs.
  • Ability to use various computer systems and maintain a high degree of data integrity for tracking, reporting, and managing campaigns.
  • Proactively anticipates, comprehends, and resolves prospects needs and issues and tactfully handles and resolves them.
  • Offer insight on collateral materials such as brochures, sponsorship packets, website content, etc. as it relates to corporate solicitation, recognition, and stewardship.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES
This position does not have any direct reports. However, this role does supervise the work of contractors, vendors, and other parties essential to the execution of events and festivals.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of sales experience; live event partnership sales preferred. Fundraising, business development or relationship management.
  • Proven ability to deliver on short-term and long-term revenue growth goals.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, analytical, and results driven.
  • Creative problem-solving ability.
  • Professional, positive, and proactive.
  • Passion for the Greater Cincinnati community.
  • Exceptional at building relationships both internally and externally; Ability to create and maintain productive, positive relationships through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates a strong ability to manage one’s own time and prioritize tasks when given clearly defined goals and objectives.
  • Ability to work outside of regular business hours including but not limited to weekends and holidays as required by the Events and Experiences event schedule, other special events, and projects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position is located in a climate-controlled downtown office site and requires a minimal amount of external activity. The job will require talking, listening, researching, and sitting for long periods working at a computer screen. This position does not require travel. Requirements include some evenings and weekends, flexible work week available to accommodate these instances.
