Work Schedule:

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.

Rate of Pay:

This position is a grade 15 with a minimum of $56,925 and a mid-point of $75,900. Salary offer will be commensurate with the education/experience, in alignment with the College's compensation philosophy, and the current CBA, if applicable.

Job Summary:

An employee in this classification performs work of moderate difficulty managing the College's relationships with the institution's 35,000+ Alumni and various affinity groups. Work is distinguished by the ability to promote active engagement for the purpose of stewarding volunteers and prospective and current donors. Direction is received from the assigned supervisor.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university with a minimum of 3 years of experience in alumni relations, fundraising, direct marketing or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Considerable skill in developing and maintaining positive and professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders from diverse populations.
  3. Considerable skill in the motivating and managing of steering committees and volunteers.
  4. Considerable skill in managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  5. Considerable skills in process/program planning, budgeting and organization
  6. Considerable skill in working as an assertive, energetic leader with a high degree of creativity, enthusiasm, initiative and diplomacy.
  7. Considerable skill in verbal and written communications
  8. Considerable skill in operating a personal computer, applicable software and peripheral equipment as well as learning and adapting to new and updated programs and technology.

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. An advanced degree
  2. Working knowledge of database management
  3. Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge or Salesforce.
  4. Some knowledge of a non-profit or educational setting.
  5. Working skills in developing and utilizing donor retention, lapsed donor reactivation and new donor acquisition techniques and strategies.
  6. Working skills in the development and coordination of special events.

 

Essential Duties:

  1. In consultation with the assigned supervisor, and stakeholders develop and execute a holistic strategy that includes measurable and trackable goals for comprehensive Alumni and Affinity engagement.
  2. Implement and monitor Alumni and Affinity programs, enlisting institutional stakeholders and external volunteers in outreach and engagement activities.
  3. Manage volunteer advisory councils.
  4. Manage a marketing and communication advisory committee for the board of directors.
  5. Direct the ongoing building and update of an accurate alumni database through coordination with various stakeholders. 
  6. Work collaboratively with other areas of the College to promote and improve Alumni and Affinity group participation, through mentoring, speaker, internship/job shadowing, networking and other academic and non-academic opportunities.
  7. Develop and manage an annual calendar/schedule of Alumni and Affinity events and activities.
  8. Manage the Distinguished Alumni Award process.
  9. Collaborate colleagues to assist with development and execution of overall foundation stewardship strategy.
  10. Oversee Alumni and select ECC Foundation communications on multiple platforms.
  11. Prepare reports and presentations as required by the department,
  12. Cultivate and maintain relationships with Alumni and Affinity group donors and volunteers, including an active Alumni Advisory Committee and others as needed to provide external input and leadership.
  13. Work collaboratively within the department to develop and advance financial support.
  14. Identify, recommend, and manage relationships with consultants and vendors related to the execution of this work, including all associated budget(s).
  15. Maintains required training, licensure and/or certification
  16. Maintains confidentiality of privileged information and adheres to applicable privacy laws
  17. Demonstrates sensitivity, understanding and respect of diverse populations within the workplace.
  18. Maintains an understanding of the work of colleagues to effectively provide backup and/or support for co-workers during times when the division is short-staffed or experiencing an increased volume of work.
  19. Adheres to department guidelines for attendance and punctuality
  20. Available to respond to internal and external customers, either in person or over the phone, during scheduled business hours
  21. Demonstrates independent judgement and discretion in making position related decisions.
