Summary: Under the guidance of the Director and the Associate Director, the Senior Manager of Membership Services manages the activities of member-focused programs within the Member Services Division. This position supervises the Member Services team focused on programs surrounding specialties, geographic regions, and life cycle member groups, from medical students to senior surgeons. This position oversees the development of the budget and facilitates implementation of programs focused on enhancing member experience. In conjunction with the Associate Director, this position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive affinity program for members across all specialties. This position is also responsible for mentoring, developing, and engaging a team of employees who interact with members, chapters, and specialty groups to enhance the membership experience.
This exempt position will report to the Director in the Division of Member Services. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote.
Major Responsibilities:

• Works with the Director and Associate Director of the Division of Member Services to implement the division's strategic objectives and priorities. Ensures high-quality, high-fidelity staff engagement across the area of responsibility with emphasis on implementation of products, programs, and services that support members and create a meaningful member experience at every career stage of surgeons/members.
• Serves as the senior staff supporting managers and administrators of various ACS committees, task forces, and Advisory Councils within the Member Services Division. Provide guidance and oversight for front line staff involved in the programs under the Senior Manager's area of responsibility. Includes defining key performance indicators (KPIs) for each area of responsibility. Defines appropriate metrics and goals for each KPI.
• Develops and implements strategies for staff development within the area of responsibility. Identifies opportunities to leverage activities of different areas to enhance other programs within the area of responsibility. For example, uses high performing chapters or high-quality programs from chapters as examples to improve chapters or programing that is under performing.
• Develops and introduces staff development programing to ensure staff are operating at the highest levels of efficiency and member engagement.
• Develops and monitors budgets for operations within the assigned area of responsibility within the Division.

Required Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required; master's degree preferred.
• At least 7-10+ years of significant management-level experience is required, including the management and mentoring of direct reports.
• Strong program and project management skills and experience required.
• Experience developing and managing project and/or program budgets preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
