Summary of Position

A Manager-In-Training position is a FULL TIME Management position perfect for those looking to take the next step in their career development! At Cowabungas, were looking for ATTITUDE over EXPERIENCE as we work closely with parents and children to create special memories for their families. Our Manager-In-Training must be an enthusiastic learner as we show and demonstrate the skills needed to be an effective leader. MITs job is to get to know staff, mentor first-time job holders, and lead them all to success by following our roadmap that ensures top standards in customer service, cleanliness and safety!

The position of Manager-In-Training is in place as a transitional role to develop all the skills necessary to take on full store management duties at a later date. It is typical practice to elevate a Manager-In-Traininginto this role as skills become mastered. A Manager-In-Training is a great multi-year growth position with several benchmarks for increased job flexibility, bonuses and pay.

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to:)

• Act as manager in the absence of store manager

Roles Include:

• Administration (phone calls, emails, other forms of customer correspondence)
• Electronic Tools (POS, Checklists, Project managing, etc.)
• Coaching/Mentoring staff (training/orientation, coaching, leading by example)
• Cleaning/Opening/Closing Store
• Party Directing (check-ins, training, follow up, problem solving, etc.)
• Kitchen (full kitchen duties)
• Marketing Efforts (Social Media messaging, event execution, etc.)
• Retail (inventory, stocking, restocking, merchandising)
• Other various special projects

Cleaning Requirements

At Cowabungas, we expect Assistant Managers to lead by example. The same cleaning expectations we lay out for a party pro are also expected of an Assistant Manager when the need arises. An Assistant Manager will be expected to

• Maintain bathrooms
• Replace trash barrels
• Maintain family bathroom/changing areas
• Restock cleaning supplies
• Mop and sweep large sections
• Life, move, reposition furniture to ensure cleanliness
• Scrub-clean various surfaces
• Have work be inspected routinely for optimal results

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to be on feet continuously during shift
• Ability to lift 40lbs consistently
• Ability to jump, crawl, slide through equipment for safety checks
• Ability to work on hands and knees
• Ability to speak clearly and confidently
• Ability to climb ladders

Qualifications

• Have leadership qualities
• At least 18 years of age
• Ability to pass a background check with no concerns
• Reference check(s)

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $19.00 - $22.00/hour.
