We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Manager, HR Systems on our Human Resources team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 3 days a week in the office.
As a Manager, HR Systems, you will manage and oversee HRsystems and technologies to ensure effective operations, process efficiency,and data integrity and security. Partner with HR unit leaders and IT to developstrategy for future upgrades, enhancements, and new systems. In coordinationwith AMA App Dev team and third-party consultants, implement, modify, andupgrade HR software, and oversee end user training. Manage HRIS operations to effectivelysupport HR staff and AMA business unit end users.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Human Resources Information Systems
- Set direction and goals and manage project plans for HR systems and related operations.
- Own full life cycle implementation and maintenance/upgrades and innovation of new and current systems.
- Develop procedures for system users; provide end to end user training; trouble shoot operational questions and problems.
- Establish key metrics for systems team. Ensure compliance with data security and privacy requirements and safeguard the integrity of data and system changes.
- Manage complex highly visible processes and ensure all schedules for payroll-related data transfers, compliance reporting and benefit vendor file transmissions are securely met.
- Leverage technology and strategize with HR Ops manager to implement process improvements that will streamline work and increase efficiencies.
- Serve as liaison between IT and HR, translating technical standards and requirements into communications and solutions that resonate with and address business need.
Reporting and Analytics
- Create specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs.
- Produce report and datasets for analysis using system reporting tools.
- Display deep understanding of the HRIS data and perform data analysis to address complex business problems and provide insight to decision makers.
- Exercise a continuous process improvement approach to reporting by making ongoing technology recommendations to leadership.
HRIS Development and other Special Projects
- Partner with HR unit leaders and Information Technology to identify, evaluate and make decisions on new and enhanced HR systems and technology, based on business need. Evaluate the feasibility of system modifications and enhancements, leading road-mapping, resource planning and feature release processes.
- Partner with HR functional areas to understand their projects and to deploy the needed HR systems support. Examples may include support for open enrollment, merit and incentive processes, talent/recruiting or DE&I initiatives, and other ongoing HR projects or new programs.
Staff Management
- Ensure required coverage and redundant support for all systems.
- Educate and oversee staff regarding data and systems maintenance, reporting, and HR systems support for our end user clients.
- Develop staff and evaluate performance.
May include other responsibilities as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's Degree required; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years' experience managing HCM solutions (including the full scope of talent management applications, e.g., LMS, ATS, performance management) or comparable systems
- Practical experience with HR database administration; experience in Lawson preferred
- Software evaluation, needs analysis, and implementation management experience required
- Proven experience analyzing data and defining metrics for reports that highlight business strengths and opportunities, and inform decision making
- Supervisory skills in selecting, coaching, and managing staff
- Broad knowledge of human resources principles, laws, and regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical staff
- Demonstrated critical thinking, analytical, and change management skills, with a focus on attention to detail.
- Project management and process improvement experience required
- Demonstrated experience in developing solutions based on user needs. Strong planning and execution skills.
