Manager, Global Prod. & Event Security

Job Description

NBCUniversal Team is looking for a Manager of Global Production and Event Security to join our Global Security Team in University City, CA. In this role, you’ll assist in providing security oversight and logistical support for all NBCU Productions (Feature Film, Cable, Television, Lifestyle Networks) during the planning and execution phases of all operations global.

This role reports to the (VP of Global Entertainment Security / Director of Production & Event Security), and will work closely with all NBCUniversal production and event teams to ensure the necessary resources, policies, and processes are in place to protect the company’s employees, physical property, intellectual property, and operations. This role will also support corporate needs by nurturing close partnerships with many internal executive leaders and external vendors. This position will be based out of the Company offices in Universal City, CA.

What You’ll Do…

• Work directly with NBCU Production business units in the planning and execution phase of all remote filming to include: Risk assessments, security plans, securing appropriate vendors, travelling to remotes when required, conducting internal investigation related to alleged violation(s) of corporate policy, and conducting after-action reviews to identify lessons learned and identifying opportunities for efficiency
• Provide security consulting services with Production Executives, Producers, Unit Production Managers and staff to evaluate script concepts and locations for safety and security concerns and risks
• Quickly recognize and resolve various production security issues that arise during the course of production activities
• Respond in a timely manner to the various production business units regarding all security emergencies and incidents, with accurate documentation, while following all NBCU security processes and procedures
• Develop partnerships with relevant cross-functional executive leaders throughout the company for increased business knowledge and proactive security prevention
• Develop and maintain effective business relationships with Local/ State/ & Federal law enforcement and emergency response government agencies
• Liaise with local, state and federal law enforcement, government agencies and investigators for all security emergencies and incidents in support of NBCU’s global productions
• Provide security services and oversight to our Special Events team for premieres, award shows, press junkets, press tours or activations at major events.
• Work closely with the Global Security organization to identify synergies in vendor relationships, opportunities to partner with other Global Corporate Security team members; ensure use of updated policies and procedures, and develop a regular communication rhythm with the Global Response & Intelligence Center team
• Provide assistance, guidance, consultation and coordination to other NBCUniversal departments including Human Resources, Legal, Investigations, etc when appropriate

What You Must Have:

• Minimum 5 years of production security experience combined with a background in law enforcement/military, at the local, state or federal level, or a related role within a corporation with a proven track record of professional success
• Minimum 2 years of experience in engaging, managing and working with security vendors
• Have a valid/active US passport.

What Would Make You a Stand-out:

• Previous entertainment or media experience with a thorough understanding of motion picture and television production including process, terminology, organizational structure, and content protection protocols
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Criminal Justice, International Studies, Public Policy, Public Administration, or related field
• Law enforcement experience at the local, state or federal level
• Possess a valid State of California Concealed Weapons Permit
• Demonstrated success with strong verbal and written communication skills working with all levels within an organization
• Demonstrated ability to work independently to deliver exceptional results among multiple priorities

• Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
