Job Summary
The Advice and Counsel Center (ACC) manager leads an Employee Relations team that supports leaders, enhances employee experience, and helps to mitigate organizational risk.
What Employee Relations & Labor Relations contributes to Cardinal Health
Human Resources designs, implements and delivers human resource programs and policies, including recruitment, talent management, diversity and inclusion, compensation and benefits, among others. This function anticipates and plans for long-term human resource needs in alignment with business strategies.
Employee Relations provides impartial advice and counsel to managers and employees on a wide variety of employee relations and management issues. This job family is responsible for conducting investigations, preparing responses to federal, state and local governmental agencies and conducing organizational health engagements focusing on positive employee relations. Labor Relations is responsible for ensuring the health of existing collective bargaining agreements, educating management on union awareness and addressing third party attempts to organize our workforce.
Responsibilities
Build a positive team culture where great work is celebrated.
Manage an ACC team:
Coach Advisors to meet service-level expectations and provide consistent guidance.
Support team member development and provide support on complex issues.
Review team and individual performance.
Assist with employee relations cases and investigations.
Provide training and development to support individual and team knowledge.
Host regular team meetings to ensure strong communication and alignment.
Support the team by communicating emerging employment law trends and HR best practices.
Build relationships and collaborate with HR partners to solve complex problems.
Represent the ACC while partnering with HR Business Partners and other COE teams.
Partner with Labor Relations and Leave Management leaders to align group strategy.
Partner with People Analytics & Insights, HR Information Systems, Payroll, and Learning & Development to achieve organizational objectives.
Proactively partner with Operations and other stakeholders to achieve results.
Partner with Ethics & Compliance on interconnected Employee Relations trends.
Consult with Legal to ensure alignment across groups.
Coordinate with subject matter experts to assist with policy interpretation and application.
Monitor Employee Relations trends and participate in remediation plans.
Build customer relationships to improve service and partnership.
Solicit feedback from stakeholders for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelors in related field, or equivalent work experience.
8+ years of experience in Employee Relations or other HR function, preferred.
People leadership experience, preferred.
Knowledge of employment law, preferred.
In-depth knowledge of HR policies and practices.

Anticipated salary range: $102,000-$152,985
