Job Summary: Serves as a working leader responsible for leading a minimum of three 3 MAINTENANCE WORKERs in performing duties ensuring Navy Lodge standards are met. Regularly performs the full range and scope of maintenance department services the same as a Maintenance Worker that include but not limited to shift work upkeep of all equipment maintenance office operations guest services housekeeping support etc. Communicate with all Navy Lodge personnel and chain of command concerning operations guest issues or situations that require immediate attention.
Duties and Responsibilities: Performs same or similar tasks as a Maintenance Workers led. Performs preventive maintenance and maintains records instruction manuals and warranties on all equipment. Inputs all work order requests utilizing the Preventive Maintenance System PMS . Performs Monthly or quarterly inspections of Emergency equipment such as emergency lighting smoke detectors etc. Establishes and executes a preventive maintenance program on plumbing electrical refrigeration air conditioning water coolers and other related mechanical equipment and appliances.
- Inspects and ensures the proper working condition of equipment machinery and facilities by regularly performing property walk-through and inspections and is responsible for inventory of maintenance stock and equipment as required. Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all equipment and appliances.
-Cleans changes filters lubricates and makes minor adjustments to various machinery parts as needed Responsible for assigned pass key properly logs in and out using Navy Lodge key log record. For security reasons must report lost key immediately to Supervisor.
- Responsible for care and upkeep of Navy Lodge issued uniform items i.e. name tags shoes jackets etc. and assigned work equipment i.e. radios power hand tools etc. Responsible for the overall upkeep and cleanliness of Navy Lodge facilities and work area as required. Greets and welcomes guests upon sight or within 10 feet while performing outstanding guest relations. May respond to guest questions regarding the operation of Navy Lodge room appliance and fixtures as applicable.
- Maintains compliance with local safety regulations. Informs supervisor of hazardous conditions vandalism damaged and unserviceable items. - Carries out EEO policies and communicates support of these policies to subordinates. May be required to load and unload truck vans. Assists with the receipt delivery and storage of merchandise. Moving heavy merchandise by lifting or using hand truck. Uses common hand tools such as hammers pliers crowbar etc.
- Demonstrates proper work methods and procedures answers employee questions and keeps supervisor informed of any delays or unusual problems. Train staff as required. Endures all tools parts and equipment are available and properly cleaned and maintained assures safety and fire rules are followed. May be required to assist with set-up and breakdown of tents chairs tables etc. used during special and clean immediate and surrounding area upon the conclusion of the event. Works under the general supervision of a Supervisor or Navy Lodge General Manager. Maintains a clean and safe environment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Effort Is required to stand stoop bend and kneel in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Working Conditions Works inside and outside is exposed to dust dirt and soiling of hands and clothing. Is also possibly exposed to cuts and bruises
May work across multiple departments based upon business needs.
This position is covered by National Association of Government Employees, Local R12-29 Union Agreement.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE One year of experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of general maintenance practices involving the upkeep of buildings grounds fixtures equipment etc.
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE Three years of general maintenance work involving a variety of trade practices associated with such occupations as air conditioning and refrigeration electrical work plumbing carpentry masonry and painting etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Standing stooping bending kneeling climbing and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 50 pounds.
