Logistics Coordinator / Labor Trade Recruiter
Salary $40K – 50K
Grand Homes, two-time winner of America’s Best Builder and one of the Top 50 companies to work for in the U.S, is looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator in our Addison office to join one of the most successful New Home Builders in the Dallas/Fort Worth area today.
Primary Function: The Logistics Coordinator provides a critical feedback loop to Purchasing, Estimating, Accounting and Construction. This includes scheduling lumber deliveries , recruiting Labor Trades ,issuing accurate purchasing orders at construction start, providing custom pricing support, research towards eradicating cost variances, issuing extra purchase orders, processing change orders, and expediting specific needs to support the construction team in driving cycle time on a daily basis.
Job Responsibilities:
Build & maintain effective relationships with our trade partners that support Grand Homes as the builder of choice in the Dallas market.
Reviews job documents and plans for accuracy in preparation for construction start; including, option addendums and color selections. Identifies lot specific needs, prepares job budgets, and issues purchase orders for distribution to field teams in accordance with monthly business plan metrics.
Resolves any issues/questions that arise with trade partner change order and purchase order reconciliation
Be the solution oriented conduit for purchasing and estimating problems that occur throughout construction.
Process change order requests and ensure changes are communicated to all parties.
Process Extra Purchase orders effectively and efficiently that accurately reflect the costs agreed upon in the sub contractor’s contract with Grand Homes.
Provide accurate and timely information regarding variance causes and initiating root cause solutions to proactively correct production WIP.
Initiates and processes custom option price requests from Sales and Design teams to ensure accurate gross margins are realized.
Reviews requests for base plan changes and substantiates with variance reporting. Coordinates the applicable takeoff adjustments with Estimators to execute the approved plan changes.
Assists Estimators with item number and item pricing maintenance.
Assists with daily tasks and special projects on an on-going basis.
Continually looking for creative ways to reduce costs, improve profitability and quality.
Enforce the policies and procedures of the company as it relates to your department.
Technical Skills & Qualifications:
Bilingual (Spanish / English)
Clear and concise communication. Service based attitude.
Construction knowledge, technical activities, processes, contract language, materials, scopes of work, and building sequence.
Ability to read building plans/blueprints with high degree of understanding.
Knowledge of BRIX and Hyphen Solutions preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word and advanced Excel.
Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or minimum 3 years previous purchasing or supply chain experience preferred.
