Job Summary: The Clinical Research Associate provides research work in support of a Clinical Research project. Tracks all data related to referrals and usage of community resource and services. Assists with data collection and reporting of program services.
Additional Department Summary: Assists the rural health clinic (RHC) and project staff to support families in locating needed resources and navigating all aspects of the health care system to include insurance coverage for needed behavioral health services. Serves as a liaison between Human Development and Family Studies, the RHC, the rural community, and the Alabama Department of Mental Health. Assists with data collection requirements as required by the Health Resources and Services Administration
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of Clinical Research support experience; OR associate's degree and two (2) years of Clinical Research support experience; OR bachelor's degree and some Clinical Research support experience.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age at the time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: High degree of accuracy. Attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously. Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and interpret data. Proficient in data entry. Customer service orientation and negotiation skills. Ability to interface with third-party payers. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office applications, etc.). Ability to train others.
Preferred Qualifications: Current Medical Coding Certificate and one year experience of billing and coding with rural health clinics and knowledge of and one year experience with behavioral and mental health (ICD-10 and CPT) coding.
