GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Facilitate and manage the execution of all modes of import and export shipments as well as domestic and onsite white glove services. Interpersonal and communications skills are crucial as the role requires the facilitation of complex services and transportation needs in a matrix environment.
- Communicate internally and externally regarding orders and transportation needs.
- Provide assistance and logistics support for customers in foreign countries on physical distribution/logistics/onsite services.
- Learn and use various applications and web-based systems to facilitate international shipments.
- Maintain close cooperation with internal stakeholders regarding necessary planning and communication.
- Coordinate timely dispatches with domestic and overseas vendors to meet customer SLA’s and internal KPI targets.
- Troubleshoot logistics related issues with vendor service providers, internal sales team, and customers.
- Monitor shipments for milestone checkpoints and coordinate with facilities, customers, and service providers to meet deadlines and avoid additional costs. Address delays both internally and externally as needed.
- Coordinate with Compliance Dept. to ensure standards and requirements for all shipment types are met.
- Organize and manage documentation for department and company-wide recording needs, including filings, invoices, data entries, and other shipment-related documents.
- Invoice approval and reconciliation.
- Obtaining, reviewing, and awarding quotes for shipments and onsite services of varying degrees of scope and scale.
- Interpreting Section XIV of MSDS files to determine required packaging, handling, and documentation requirements for hazardous shipments.
- Ability to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
- Other duties as assigned to support the department and organization.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Applications.
- Willingness to learn new workflows and continuous training.
- DG/Hazardous material certification and/or willingness to become certified.
- Experience with transportation and service negotiation for all modes of transport.Working knowledge of customs clearance procedures and required information, including Schedule B codes and HTS codes.
- Experience with common international document requirements such as ASN’s, SLI’s, ISF’s, POA’s, COO’s, Certificates of Conformity, Commercial invoices, etc.
- Working knowledge of transportation insurance requirements and experience with submitting and following up on claims is required.
- Experience with free trade agreements, bonded storage, and free trade zones
- Working knowledge of international and domestic freight and logistics functions, including how to work with and schedule services and transportation with vendors.
