Monthly Salary Range
Warehouse Coordinator II: (A17) $3,331.33 - $5,111.58
Warehouse Coordinator III: (A19) $3,770.33 - $6,034.00

Multi-Level Job Notice
This position is for one Warehouse Coordinator II or III. The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of position based on the applicant's work experience, education, skill level, and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs.

Position Description


Warehouse Coordinator II:

Coordinates the receiving, storing and issuing of stock in a warehouse. Assists in coordinating warehouse operations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Warehouse Coordinator III:

Oversees the receiving, storing and issuing of stock in a warehouse. Coordinates warehouse operations. Work requires contact with private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.

Essential Duties:

Warehouse Coordinator II:

  • Disseminates warehouse related information to assure changes, deadlines, products, surpluses and excesses are communicated to appropriate departmental staff.
  • Coordinates and performs spot checks and annual inventory
  • Coordinates all warehouse stock including the receiving, storing and issuing of stock; as required, moves warehouse items using appropriate safety methods and tools.
  • Disposes of surplus stock.
  • Enters and reads computer data relating to the issuance and receipt of stock.
  • Handles problems relating to incorrect or damaged stock
  • Monitors inventory levels to maintain stock at proper levels including: ordering materials, reducing surplus or obsolete stock, and minimizing back orders.
  • Operates fork-lift.
  • Oversees Material and Supply Management System (MSMS) and/or Minor Equipment System (MES) operations.
  • Processes purchase orders.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Warehouse Coordinator III:

  • Coordinates and monitors district materials management activities.
  • Oversees all warehouse stock including the receiving, storing and issuing of stock.
  • Oversees and performs spot checks and annual inventory
  • Disseminates warehouse related information to assure changes, deadlines, products, surpluses and excesses are communicated to appropriate departmental staff.
  • Enters and reads computer data relating to the issuance and receipt of stock
  • Handles problems relating to incorrect or damaged stock

  • Operates fork-lift.

Experience: 3 years of experience in warehouse operations or related work experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent). College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Warehouse Coordinator III:

Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general high school studies

Experience: 5 years of experience in warehouse operations or related work experience. (Experience can be satisfied by fulltime or prorated parttime equivalent). College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Warehouse Coordinator II and III:

  • Medium work: Lift up to 50 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 25 lbs
  • Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions
  • Balancing-walking, standing, crouching on various surfaces without falling
  • Fingering-picking, pinching, typing; working primarily with fingers rather than whole hand
  • Grasping-applying pressure to an object with fingers and palm
  • Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
