Job Details:Responsibilities and Duties:
- Review case files and assess legal and factual issues for discovery, motion, trial, and settlement purposes
- Prepare and respond to demand letters
- Draft and respond to pleadings
- Be highly proficient with all discovery tools and able to effectively propound and respond to discovery
- Draft and argue motions
- Appear regularly in court proceedings
- Maintain accurate calendar for court dates, filing and response deadlines, and other events relevant to the practice
- Take and defend depositions
- Manage relationships with clients, court personnels, colleagues, and opposing counsels
- Work with non-attorney staff to effectuate client needs
Qualifications:
- Active member of the California State Bar
- Minimum of 5+ years prior experience in litigation
- Self-starter with the ability to multi-task, take and provide direction, as applicable, with other firm members
- Be Deadline oriented
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Results-oriented team player
- Finely tuned analytical skills and the ability to interpret and analyze a multitude of documents including pleadings, client communications, and a variety of legal documents
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative work environment
- Have valid California driver's license with ability to drive to court and other events
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access), Gmail, MacOS, One Legal, Rapid Legal, LawToolBox; ability to learn Case Management and Document Management systems
