Cook
At 24 Main, we focus on TEAM, INGREDIENTS, OUTPUT and then CUSTOMER, in that order. We help each other grow, and succeed in both our personal and professional lives. We find the best and use our skills to make it better and then we help customers enjoy it and appreciate it.
How long has it been since you have been truly excited to share your talents in a supportive and creative work environment? Come be part of a team where your feedback is encouraged, and your ideas are heard!
24 Main is a team-focused cocktail bar and small plate restaurant that strives every day to create our best work with the best ingredients, a balance between our offerings and our environment. It starts with a team that values and respects each other and gets things done without raised voices. We are all here to grow; our only competition is with our future selves! We combine our skills to complete the work that requires us all. As individuals, we apply our knowledge, skill, and intuition to the best damn ingredients we can find, creating truly memorable experiences. Our priorities include taking care of our team, growing through our ingredients, and curating the ultimate experience.
Growth is our goal in knowledge, skill, worldview, and life. If you have a heart of gold but a passion for challenging the things others merely accept, if you are ready to go against the grain, and if you really are tired of the status quo, grow with us. We welcome you.
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous culinary production experience
- Have a self-driven work ethic with heavy attention to detail
- Have a positive approach to hospitality and teamwork
- Have the ability to adapt to a changing menu with speed and efficiency
We are shattering the stigma of the toxic, abusive kitchen environment and strive toward being a place of acceptance and growth. No thrown saute pans, no verbal abuse, and no working yourself to death.
On top of our highly competitive hourly wage, we are breaking the wheel of inequity among front and back of house, by including an added service fee on every check instead of a typical gratuity. This service fee will be pooled at the end of each day and split between front and back of house, with 20% going toward kitchen staff and 80% to servers and bartenders.
We are doing this for two reasons. To shift the balance of income more evenly between all staff, sending more money home to you, and to inspire synergy between staff, allowing us to provide the best experience possible to our customers without the influence of financial gain.
