Description:
As the cook, you will work directly with our Sr. Executive Chef on all kitchen management as well as assist in any events at the Distillery & Tavern. The primary duties of this role include cooking, prepping, ordering, and inventory. You are required to stand for long periods, walk up and down stairs, and bend and stoop.
Key Responsibilities and Job Functions Include:
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Prepare, serve, and expand upon menu items already designed by experienced and successful local chefs
- Safe food handling procedures
- Prep all food items as needed
- Safely handle heavy cooking equipment
- Clean kitchen after service
- Sanitize all appropriate utensils and equipment
- Properly store and label food
- Assist in cleaning projects, deep cleaning, cleaning up any necessary mess
Qualifications and Character Traits Include:
- Punctuality and reliability
- At least 2 years experience as a line cook (preferred)
- Ability to effectively communicate with kindness and respect with management and fellow team members
- Work in a fast-paced environment under high-pressure circumstances
- Possess an understanding of safe food handling procedures
- Ability to understand direction and take constructive feedback
- Work with staff to provide an excellent guest dining experience
- Ability to follow directions well and understand recipe standards
- Able to safely lift to 25-35lbs.
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Critical thinking and problem solving, identifying opportunities, and implementing corrective action
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
Working Conditions
This position may require employees to work in a small space with high temperatures and hot cooking surfaces. This position may require working under high-stress circumstances, skid and slip-resistant footwear and appropriate clothing may be required.
This position requires standing for extended periods. It may require heavy lifting occasionally and work with sharp utensils. It may require the individual to work in cold temperatures. Handle frozen food. Handle food that may be contaminated. May be required to handle difficult employees and guests and assist with any other critical operational demands.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
