We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled breakfast focused Line Cook to join our BUSY AND NEW bagel shop team. The Line Cook will be responsible for prepping, preparing and cooking a variety of menu items including breakfast sandwiches, accompaniments and any other items coming from the flat top while adhering to food safety and quality standards. You will be in charge of setting up your station prior to shift, prepping items needed for service, and creating a prep list for the next day. The ideal candidate should have excellent time management and multitasking skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food PreparationPrepare and cook a variety of menu items, including bagels and breakfast sandwiches according to established recipes and customer preferences.
• Ingredient ManagementMaintain inventory on all food ingredients, including bagels, spreads, meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Restocking station daily and letting management know when an order needs to be placed
• Kitchen SanitationFollow proper food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment
• Quality ControlI inspect food products for quality and freshness, and promptly discard any items that do not meet our standards
• Customer ServiceWork collaboratively with the front of house team and other back of house employees to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently. Be responsive to customer requests and special dietary needs
• Equipment MaintenanceEnsure kitchen equipment such as toasters, grills, fryer and range are kept clean and in good working order. Report any equipment issues to management
• Team WorkCollaborate with fellow kitchen staff to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation, especially during peak hours
• Menu KnowledgeStay informed about the menu including specials or promotions as well as being able to answer customer questions

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food safety practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously
• Strong communication skills
• Positive attitude and passion for creating delicious food
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Food handlers certificate is required
