Position Summary

The Lending Operations Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient consumer Lending Operations, compliance, processes, security and assigned projects in accordance with the credit union's objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Management: Ensure that all Lending staff are compliant with different programs or platforms - i.e. Service Plus, Synapsys, Symitar, Meridian Link, etc. Ensure staff is uniformly following processes and procedures and update as needed. Create, review, update and monitor lending process operations and procedures to be streamlined and efficient, and compliant. Gather data and recommend enhancements to different platforms and work with different departments to implement or create. Be the primary liaison between Lending Operations and other departments such as training, retail, compliance, ebusiness, etc. as relates to loan origination processes and procedures, including escalations, audit response, and knowledge sharing/training to department and retail staff as needed.
• Loan Review: Ensure that trailing loan documents and files match application data. Ensures that all consumer loans are processed, reviewed, and funded as efficiently as possible and that existing service level standards are maintained. Ensures any missing information or documentation is obtained prior to funding and ensures all loan documents and trailing documents (recorded Deeds of Trusts, title policies, etc) are promptly indexed and archived in the CU’s electronic document system.
• Supervise lending specialists to ensure that all loan applications are processed and funded in a timely manner. Ensures that staff has appropriate knowledge depth, and contingency plans to maintain business continuity in the event of unplanned absences. supervises staff. Conducts performance appraisals & recommends salary adjustments and/or promotions. Ensures even workflow throughout the business day.
• General Administrative oversight of the Loan Origination System including, but not limited to, loan and membership product and pricing updates, system approval and general underwriting guidelines, the loan application portal, new membership and loan application workflows including any IAV tools or ACH file creations, integration with 3rd party vendors, product rates, document support updates, risk based pricing, disclosures or adverse action notices are accurate and auto generated and sent, LOS to CORE system mapping, and automated stipulations, tasks lists and borrower communications via email and/or text during the loan origination process.
• Balance appropriate GL accounts as required. Ensures that the LOS is maintained and properly setup to address needed changes to operations as new products are introduced or existing products are modified. Ensure all indirect loan files are not funded outside of guidelines, all required documents are obtained and reviewed, and that data integrity is maintained.
• Participate in regulatory meetings, product scoping and prospective new product or vendor meetings, and represent the consumer lending department to internal departments and outside auditors as needed. Keep informed of current trends in consumer credit. Ensure that all home equity loans have upfront and closing disclosures sent and within regulatory guidelines.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

• Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience.
• B.A./B.S. degree in Business Administration or related fields.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
• Experience with banking or Symitar system is a plus.
• Detail-oriented, excellent organization, verbal, written, and communication skills.
• Excellent time management skills to meet the daily need of the department and assigned projects.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to coordinate/communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Work independently and with others.
• The ability to motivate or influence internal or external senior level professionals is a critical part of the job, requiring a significant level of influence and trust. Obtaining cooperation and agreement on important outcomes via frequently complex, senior level dialogues, as well as a professional level of written and oral communication skills are essential to the position.
• A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others.

The Lending Operations Manager position is a Grade 12.

• Salary Range: $91,370.86 to $137,056.30
• Target Range: $91,370.86 to $114,213.58

• The target range for entry in a new position is between the minimum and midpoint of the range, depending on experience and qualifications.

As you excel in your responsibilities, there is potential for this role to evolve and expand into an Assistant Vice President (AVP) role within our Consumer Lending team, which is a Grade 13. The salary range for the AVP position is $104,890.93 to $157,336.39.
