Legal Secretary

The Decatur office of Walters Balido & Crain is actively interviewing for a full-time Legal Secretary. This position The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

• 2-plus years of experience in civil litigation – prefer insurance defense;
• Drafting and typing various types of documents, including correspondence, pleadings, memoranda and other such documents specific to the litigation practice area;
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook;
• Excellent typing, writing and verbal communication skills;
• Ability to prioritize & organize duties;
• Ability to meet critical deadlines;
• Receive direction well, in a fast-paced environment;
• Transcription;
• E-file federal and state court pleadings;
• Document management and organization;
• Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, mediations, inspections;
• Keep calendar up-to-date with case information and new developments including trials, hearings, deadlines;
• Other duties as assigned.
