Associate Research Scientist

Authors AI / BingeBooks is actively seeking a part-time Associate Research Scientist with a specialization in natural language processing and data science. The Associate Research Scientist will contribute significantly to the development of new AI/ML systems tailored for fiction, including in-progress manuscripts and published books. The position involves a blend of maintaining and advancing existing company technology, coupled with the design of innovative approaches to analyzing fiction, particularly through use of large language models.Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement NLP algorithms for the analysis of published and in-progress fiction manuscripts.
• Ensure the upkeep of existing functionality.
• Train machine learning models built to categorize spans of natural text.
• Visualize computational results for ease of communication with non-technical experts.

Qualifications

• Education in Computer Science, Information Science, Computational Linguistics, Digital Humanities, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages, including R and Python.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing NLP algorithms, especially core techniques, such as topic modeling, sentiment analysis, and new large language models.
• Genuine passion for literature and fiction and for doing data science in the literary domain.

This position would require 15-20 hours a week and would offer compensation in the form of salary plus stock options.
