SalaryWe have an immediate opening for a Legal Secretary in our Casualty Department/ Asbestos Litigation Practice, Pittsburgh office. The Legal Secretary will be responsible for assisting a variety of attorneys.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Formatting and compiling pleadings and other legal documents
· Filing legal documents (e-filing in PA State and Federal Court)
· Transcribing dictations
· Corresponding with clients
· Maintaining calendars (deadlines, discoveries responses, and court orders)
· Scheduling depositions
· Opening new matters
· Typing letters, documents, reports, pleadings, and memoranda
· Downloading and compiling filings from various court websites
· Reviewing documents for accuracy.
· Organizing and maintaining files.
Education and Experience:
- High school degree/GED, bachelor’s degree a plus
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
- Asbestos and general litigation experience a must
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Kofax/Nuance, iManage, and Excel
- Knowledge of the court systems is a must
- Possess excellent written and verbal skills·
