Gilpin Givhan, PC, is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal. This role is important to our operations, as it requires the ability to perform a variety of complex duties accurately and in a timely manner with limited supervision. We are looking for candidates who possess exceptional analytical, communication, and organizational skills, and have the drive to learn and grow within the position. Excellent grammar and proofreading skills, strict attention to detail, and proficiency in e-filing. Candidates will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file documents
- Draft pleadings, motions, notices, and subpoenas
- Summarize depositions and discovery responses
- Schedules depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Monitor files to ensure compliance with court-mandated deadlines
- Communicate with clients, schedule meetings, manage attorneys' emails and calendar
- Conduct electronic research and perform document searches
- Create, index, and maintain files
- Assist with preparation for hearings and trials
- Organize trial notebooks and trial exhibits
- Assist attorneys with any other critical tasks
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal in litigation
- Paralegal certification or degree in a related field preferred
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Hourly Rate:
Commensurate with experience
