Position Details:
- Performs domestic trademark searching and clearance using searching databases.
- Prepares and e-files US trademark applications and maintains documents.
- Drafts legal briefs and legal blogs on business law.
- Contacts clients to obtain required information and specimens for filing.
- Reviews docket and sends reminders to clients and attorneys.
- Communicates with trademark colleagues to assist client matters
- Drafts cease and desist letters.
- Performs trademark due diligence prior to filing application
- Supports client development and activities.
- Supports International Trademark Association (INTA) activities.
- Performs other work-related duties as may be assigned from time to time.
- All of the foregoing performed under the direct supervision of experienced trademark attorneys.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Not required.
- A Paralegal Certificate is preferred. Not required.
- Experience in a law firm is preferred. Not required.
- Some knowledge of US and international trademark law and practice
- Strong Microsoft Office capabilities required along with excellent writing and organizational skills.
