Job description

Microsoft Advertising (MSA) empowers advertisers around the world to reach their maximum potential through our omni-channel, multi-format, global platforms.

We are seeking a Learning & Development Director to lead the transformation of Microsoft Advertising through innovative learning experiences for employees and clients. This role will report to the Senior Director of Sales Enablement, and is part of MSA Sales Strategy and Business Excellence organization.

This role will:
  • Lead a team of global Learning Consultants spanning employee capability, product learning, and client skilling programs.
  • Develop and drive internal and external advertising learning strategy.
  • Enable the team to grow the skills of Microsoft Advertising sellers and clients and build their capability, product, tools and platform knowledge as we embrace this AI transformation.
  • Model best-in-class leadership, program management and organizational skills to evolve learning programs to meet future needs.
  • Build stakeholder partnerships, apply creative resource management, drive continuous measurement and learner feedback processes to improve and advance learner experiences.

Responsibilities

People Management
  • Managers deliver success through empowerment and accountability by Microsoft’s modeling, coaching, and caring framework.

Program Planning, Development and Execution
  • Guide the team’s learning programs and initiatives by identifying organizational needs, securing resources, communicating with senior stakeholders, and prioritizing work for the team.
  • Empower the team to execute on a strategic end-to-end learner journey and collection of learning experiences and programs.
Stakeholder/Customer Collaboration
  • Facilitate, design, and maintain rhythm of business cadence with key stakeholders and leaders. Communicate learning and development approaches to senior leaders and stakeholders to educate them on and influence buy in and implementation of solutions.
Program Success Analysis and Metrics
  • Determine the evolution of learning using data, technology, and Microsoft Advertising transformation strategy, to successfully define capability gaps for the business, improve benchmarking, and drive learning priorities through learner-centric methodology. Drive towards business outcomes always.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND/OR 7+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR Master's Degree or equivalent AND/OR 5+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience
    • OR equivalent experience

Additional or Preferred Qualifications
  • Vocational qualification or higher education degree (e.g., Bachelor's Degree) AND 10+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, HR, customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR Master's Degree or equivalent AND 8+ years experience in Learning and Development, relevant technical roles, business development, field or sales, human resources (HR), customer success, collection management, research/restoration evaluation, industry, or program/project management
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Microsoft Fundamentals, Coaching (e.g., International Coaching Federation), Project and/or Program Management Professional, archival, or a similar certificate.
  • Demonstrates commitment to career development and continuous or consistent learning through formal and informal efforts (e.g., change management, design thinking, management training, online courses).
  • Experience in Learning and Development roles, designing and delivering digital advertising Learning & Development programs.

Integrated Learning M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $266,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $292,200 per year.
