PuroClean® of North Spokane, a locally-owned restoration industry leader, is growing.
We are looking for a LEAD PROPERTY DAMAGE RESTORATION TECHNICIAN who wants to grow with a growing company & shares our values: INTEGRITY, ACCOUNTABILITY, RESILIENCE, EMPATHY, & INCLUSION.
Primary Role:
This position exists to support PuroClean of North Spokane’s restoration services in Spokane, WA and surrounding areas by mitigating property damage to homes & businesses caused by water, fire, mold, wind, hoarding, and biohazards. Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Providing empathy, reassurance, and exceptional customer service to clients who have just experienced what is often a devastating event, such as a house flood or fire.
- Inspecting, evaluating, and documenting damaged properties using restoration industry hardware & software.
- Loading, unloading, and using professional drying equipment such as dehumidifiers, fans, & water extraction pumps, as well as cleaning & maintaining this equipment regularly.
- Removing & disposing of damaged building materials such as drywall and flooring that cannot be salvaged.
- Using various restoration methods to clean & restore affected building materials.
- Supervising Property Damage Restoration Technician(s)
Pay & Hours:
- $20.00-25.00 per hour + bonuses, depending on experience. Attitude, ability to receive & act on coaching, & willingness to be a cohesive member of a team are more important to us than prior restoration experience.
- 32 hours/4 consecutive days per week + a minimum of 3 on-call shifts per month. (On call shifts are nights and/or weekends.) Bonus pay for each emergency call response + regular hourly pay or overtime. If you are not willing to staff occasional on-call shifts, you are not a good fit for this role.
- $1,000 signing bonus
- Allowance for work boots & pants provided upon hire; branded work shirts are provided.
Benefits:
- Paid Time Off
- Medical & Dental Insurance
- Employer contribution toward voluntary benefits including hospital confinement, critical illness, accident, and life insurance.
- 401k with employer contribution
- 1 paid day per month to volunteer for a local charity of your choice or at your child’s school.
- Advancement opportunities: Opportunities for promotion with a locally owned, highly rated, financially stable, & quickly growing restoration industry leader based on your attitude & the results you produce. This position is a gateway to Warehouse Manager, Biorisk Management Specialist, and/or Production Manager. In addition, formal restoration industry certifications as well as management and leadership training are available & will be encouraged.
Job Requirements:
- YOU ARE HUMBLE AND COACHABLE. These are the most significant qualifications you can bring to this job. "Coachable" means you don't have all the answers and are able & willing to hear and act on coaching you receive, not only from the business owners but also from those you supervise.
- You know how to communicate effectively and compassionately with clients, those you supervise, and those who supervise you. You agree that restoration is less than 50% technical skills and more than 50% people skills. If you lack and are unwilling to develop effective communication skills, you are not a good fit for this role.
- You have prior mitigation/restoration industry experience. Hiring preference will be given to certified Water Restoration Technicians with an active cert (IICRC "WRT" certification). Additional active certifications may affect initial pay rate.
- You have a consistently optimistic attitude. Where others often see problems or roadblocks, you often see solutions and a path forward.
- You care about people: clients, co-workers, & those in your community.
- You are able & willing to adhere to & enforce all mitigation procedures used by PuroClean of North Spokane (even if these differ from how you have been previously trained).
- You accept that lack of professionalism, transparency, and integrity are rampant in the restoration industry, and you want to help us change that narrative. In addition you want to work for a local company that values its people, cares about creating positive client experiences, and doesn't sacrifice either in the name of profit. (Really. Do some research on our reputation if in doubt.)
- You are able & willing to adhere to AND enforce all safety requirements.
- You can repeatedly lift at least 50 lbs.
- You follow the rules & have common sense: You have no felony convictions, a clean driving record, & can pass initial & ongoing drug tests (marijuana is legal in WA – presence of any other controlled substances will disqualify you). You do not use alcohol or other drugs during or immediately before work time, nor while on or in company property.
Preferred Qualifications:
- You are a non-smoker with good personal hygiene. This is a client-facing position, with the majority of work time spent in client's homes. Most clients will not appreciate a houseguest that smells like an ashtray and/or BO.
If you feel like “good enough” isn’t, we’d like to talk.

When homes and businesses in the Spokane area suffer damage due to flooding, fire, mold, wind, hoarding, and/or biohazards, we rescue & restore them by creating order out of chaos & bringing a sense of calm to everyone involved.
Every company likes to think they're different, but we live this distinction daily. In an industry known to attract people with poor communication & interpersonal skills, we place more importance on these qualities than on anything else (including prior restoration experience). Why? Because people rely on us to help restore their home - their sanctuary & their biggest asset - after it has been damaged (sometimes violently) by nature. The technical aspects of restoration can be trained, but someone either has the ability to show empathy, the willingness to operate with integrity, the desire to be a cohesive member of a team, and the self-discipline to remain accountable - or doesn't. If you do, we'd like to talk!
